• WE ARE A CREATIVE DUO

    • We design Handmade Women's Handbags, Tote bags and Shoulder bags as well as Quilts with attitude!
Made from funky fabric which we source rom around the world, as well as some feature screen printing designs of our very own. We aim to make entirely individual creations every time, no two bags are the same.

We have been playing with fabric for years, creating clothing, quilts, bags and all things quirky. We love fabrics, colour and experimenting with buttons, lace, unusual trims and felt.

    • Our bags are designed to fit our owns needs. This process begins with a prototype, which we try out by wearing it to see if it really has everything we want. Often the original design gets slightly modified to streamline the construction or to add that extra pocket.

    STEPS TO MADE OUR PRODUCT

  • STEP 1 DESIGN

We begin the process by choosing fabric that will be featured on our bags pocket. Then we match up the pocket to the fabric which will make up the rest of the bag. Next we work out which style of bag would best suit the feature pocket fabric we have. Now we cut the fabric to the chosen design and we are ready to go.

    STEP 2 FABRIC & COLOUR

We always have allot of fun at this stage. Here we get to choose the button and sometimes it happens really quickly and other times it takes forever… the button is very important you have to understand and there are a lot to choose from, which seems to be part of the problem. We also choose the zip in this stage, this is significantly easier!

    STEP 3 STRUCTURE & STABILITY

This stage may seem a little dull, but it’s the difference between you having a floppy sad bag or a cheerful upright one. Choosing the structure, which we call interfacing varies from bag to bag depending on how much support it needs.

    STEP 4 CONSTRUCT THE BAG

We like to create cushy straps so your shoulders don’t get sore, but this doesn’t always suit the style of the bag design. This is why sometimes our bags have handmade padded straps or a pre-fabricated narrow strap.

    STEP 5 LINING & FINISHING

Finally we choose the lining, sew it in and finish off the bag. However like the button this can take a while to choose, this is also probably due to the fact we have too many options. But once we’ve fallen in love with it, its quickly sewn in and finished off… and viola another bag get photographed for you to peruse.

OUR STORY

We have been playing with fabric for years, creating all things from Dresses to Bags as well as Quilts and all things quirky. We love fabrics, colour and experimenting with buttons, lace, unusual trims and all things that are just a little bit different.

The duo consists of Irma and Ruth; Irma has always enjoyed experimenting with fabric, silk painting, garment construction and art quilts. Ruth is an artist with a background in sewing, drawing, painting and pottery.

A large number of our fabrics come from around the world; Japan, America, Bali and Canada as well as some feature screen printed designs of our very own! We aim to make entirely individual creations every time.

For many years we have shared a common interest in fabric and a love of colour. The joy of finding just the right piece of fabric to complement another is to us completly satisfying and enjoyable plus the pleasure of working together in harmony and having creative fun.

Initially we designed tote bags to meet our own needs for practical every day use, which lead to making tote bags for family and friends. In making the fabric tote bags and shoulder bags, zipper bags, plus quilts, we enjoy our creative days together sewing and choosing fun colours for each item being made.

Using our talents in this way is rewarding, enjoyable and a gift and we hope you love your new bag as much as we do!
